Handbook for Epstein-Barr Virus: Testing and Treatment in Severe, Chronic Pain Conditions
Handbook for Epstein-Barr Virus Testing and Treatment
The Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV) is now known to reactivate, invade tissues, and develop autoimmunity which may cause some cancers and severe chronic pain conditions. This handbook recommends who should be tested and how to interpret test results. Prevention of reactivation and treatment suggestions are presented.
“Our studies and observations compel me to believe that if EBV reactivation and autoimmunity is not recognized and controlled, the virus, often in tandem with others, may produce a progressive, debilitating, painful conditions.”
The Epstein-Barr Virus: A New Factor in the Care of Chronic Pain
In 1958, Dr. Denis Burkitt first discovered that the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) caused cancers in African children.
The Epstein-Barr Virus is normally a harmless parasite in the human body. New research shows that it can activate and act as a catalyst or expeditor of severe, chronic pain conditions and some cancers.
Our research clearly shows that new tests and treatment measures for Epstein-Barr can provide significantly more pain relief when added to standard pain care. Failure to diagnose and control EBV autoimmunity, however, can lead to tragic consequences. I highly suggest that every person with chronic pain that requires daily medication acquire this book and share it with their physicians.
The Ehlers-Danlos / Arachnoiditis Connection
The Ehlers-Danlos / Arachnoiditis Connection
This book has been written to call attention to the connection of Ehlers-Danlos Syndromes (EDS) and adhesive arachnoiditis (AA). The combination of these two diseases is a medical tragedy of great misery, suffering, and a shortened life. Persons with this dual disease combination need to be recognized at the earliest date possible so they can hopefully stop the pathologic progression of their plight and have some quality of life. This dual disease combination can probably be prevented or at least ameliorated if all concerned parties have a basic understanding of how the two diseases become connected.
Handbook for Intractable Pain: Recognition and Treatment
Handbook for Intractable Pain: Recognition and Treatment
The realization that a subgroup of chronic pain patients has constant pain and what amounts to a disease of its own is finally spreading. Over half a dozen states now have IP laws and Wikipedia not only defines IP but refers to IP as a disease. At this time persons with IP and their medical practitioners can and must recognize that IP exists and select among treatment measures of which many are provided in this handbook.
IP doesn’t have to thrust a person into misery and a short life if a three-component protocol is followed: (1) suppression of inflammation and autoimmunity, (2) restoration of damaged tissues, (3) pain control. To carry out this protocol, one has to become knowledgeable about IP and build, over time, an effective therapeutic program.
The Strange Medical Saga of John Henry (Doc) Holliday
The Strange Medical Saga of John Henry (Doc) Holliday
He amazingly survived fourteen years on the Western Frontier as a professional gambler with active tuberculosis. His treatments were sulfurous, mineral hot baths, alcohol, and opium.
Wyatt Earp described the legendary “Doc” Holliday:
“He was a dentist whom necessity had made a gambler; a gentleman whom disease had made a frontier vagabond; a philosopher whom life had made a caustic wit; a long, lean, ash-blond fellow nearly dead with consumption and at the same time the most skillful gambler and the nerviest, speediest, deadliest man with a six-gun I ever knew.”
